Background

Having spent her early career practicing environmental law in Chicago, Shantell moved to Indiana in 2015. Shantell is the newest addition to the Hatchett & Hauck team and enjoys helping firm clients with their environmental issues.

Emphasis

Shantell assists clients primarily in environmental counseling, permitting and other regulatory matters. Shantell enjoys advising in the realms of air and water where she helps clients navigate the permit process and advises on enforcement actions.   

Experience

Shantell began her legal career in 2005 at Mayer Brown LLP where she gained broad experience in corporate advising on environmental matters and environmental litigation.  Shantell has experience advising clients on environmental issues in complex, high-stakes mergers, acquisitions, and other real estate and financing transactions as well as a wide array of regulatory matters. Shantell’s litigation experience includes preparing pleading documents, managing discovery and fact development, motion practice and brief writing. Shantell has also assisted with settlement strategy and negotiation.

Involvement

Shantell is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association.  When not honing her legal skills, Shantell enjoys cheering her kids on, getting outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
