Background
Over roughly 25 years of working on projects and cases throughout the Midwest U.S. and beyond, David Hatchett has represented clients in almost every area of environmental law. He frequently uses his undergraduate and master’s degrees in environmental science and management to translate "technical" to "legal," which allows him to keep time and expense for his clients in check. He has been selected by his peers to the Super Lawyers list each year since 2012 and has been honored with other professional recognitions (including Best Lawyers’ Indianapolis Lawyer of the Year for Environmental Law in 2017 and Indianapolis Lawyer of the Year for Environmental Litigation in 2018) over the years.

David enjoys the challenge presented by the project or case, whether for large industrial clients or smaller businesses. He has extensive experience representing clients before various state, federal, local, and administrative courts and agencies across the Midwest and in Washington, D.C. David focuses on litigation, compliance and transactional work.
